Summer Blooming Flowers 8-8-2014

Today is my sweetheart’s birthday!

Astrology experts generally say Leo’s and Capricorn’s don’t get along… However, I did just find one that thinks we have a chance…

When Leo and Capricorn join together in a love match, they form a mutually supportive union. Capricorn is more conservative, hard working and traditional in outlook. Leo is a firm believer in hard work, but tends to get things done through their charm and social skills. However, both are extremely devoted, especially to each other. Although they may seem to be an unlikely couple on the surface, their love will grow as they discover similarities.

Hamamelis virginiana – Vernal witchhazel

These look familiar… Look right above this photo!

Stachys monieri ‘hummelo’ – betony

Aster novi-belgii ‘Alert’

Stylophorum diphyllum – Celadine poppy or wood poppy

I have this in my shade garden under a mature, limbed-up spruce. I never water them or do anything aside from admire them. They bloom for the ENTIRE summer. Yes, that required ‘bolding’, as I’m sure that is a pretty bold statement for me to make!

Waiting for the train to the ‘Shitty’!!

Lobelia cardinalis – Cardinal flower – Can’t imagine why they call it that?! Ha!

Catalpa – Blooming again… you can see it bloomed a while ago as there are already ‘cigars’ forming on it. When a plant reflowers when it isn’t supposed to it’s called, ‘remontant flowering’.

Corydalis lutea – Yellow corydalis

Clematis – possibly ‘Bee’s Jubilee’

Sneaky oxidentalis peeking out….Just kewl!
