  1. I like it! I swear I thought about bidding on it until I visited the auction page…$500 is not in my budget for a hat right now even if it is for a good cause. Whoever winds up with it will be happy though. 😉 Thanks for sharing this, it’s interesting.

    • I’ve been following Sally since I started blogging. I can’t afford these either, however I really, really love her hatter art!! Did I say I love hats? Again, can’t imagine a reason for me to own one this flamboyant. If I were to walk into one of the hole-in-the-wall joints I frequent, they’d wonder how this float got off the parade route!
I also think it’s a great cause for the horses. I love all animals and morally can’t NOT reblog this. =-)

      • Hey I hear ya all the way across that reply!

I thought as I waited for ebay to load where in the heck would I wear this, a question I know my guy would also be asking. But no worries, I saw the price. That didn’t keep me from wondering what I could make up to wear it to in my imagination!

It definitely is a cool cause, I agree. I read her post about making the hat too and what a great idea to sew some of his hair into the hat. We’ll just have to dream about having a derby part or something (though I’ve never watched any derby…)

        Thanks again for sharing. 🙂

  2. What a wonderful charity and brilliant idea your friend has with her beautiful hat auction! I love it! I’ve been crazy about Thoroughbred horses since I was a little girl so “Bravo!” to raising money for these amazing retired racers! I think I might have to start following Sally’s blog too now.

    • I just love anyone that wants to help animals. I’ve never had a horse, however they fall into ‘animal’! Sally used to post more often, with a new hat almost weekly. I think she’s getting busy now though, Bravo for her!
Thanks for the follow, BTW! I’m giving you a follow also. Who doesn’t want to learn how to make doggy agility equipment?!? 😉

Time to fire-up the chair-to-keyboard interface!!!
