  1. Some really interesting specimens here. Just love alliums, wild or tamed.The sumac is lovely – only just heard about sumac as it’s the wow ingredient in many middle eastern recipes.

  2. I walked past a neighbour’s garden yesterday and it had several tall statuesque allium heads dominating the herbaceous border. I used to grow them. When is a good time to plant them please?

  3. Hi Ilex: Are all these pics that you have been posting recently taken in your own garden, or from various landscaping projects? If your own garden , it would be interesting to see “longer shots” in order to get a total perspective. Just a thought! πŸ™‚

  4. I forget what great soil Illinois has for growing things. I’m loving all the wildflowers and lush vegetation at the Burnidge Forest preserve. Now to get out and photograph them πŸ˜‰
